Ian Davey started working in fibreglass in 1984 making windsurfing boards for himself and his younger brother. This interest in board construction developed into a small business crafting custom surf and windsurf boards. The first fibreglass roof commissioned came in around 1986.
Ian was soon asked to join the team at Rowsell & Morrison Boat Builders, a specialist sailing dinghy designer and manufacturer based in Exmouth, Devon; making the International 14 racing dinghy.
Moving on from boat building, Ian went to work for an industrial mouldings company adding mould making skills and large scale laminating processes to his fibreglass CV.
Into the mid 90's Ian setup "Hurricane Trading" taking on manufacturing contracts for items such as the Scorpion Sailing Dinghy, GT40 Kit Car, Volkswagen camper van roofs, motorcycle body shells and mudguards and of course fibreglass flat roofs
